Food Fix: A Mindfulness Workshop about Food
Here comes the long holiday season from Halloween to New Years. Are you wondering how to get through with some sense of peace with food? Join Sue Young in this 10-week workshop on the thoughts, emotions and actions that might need investigating in order to create a more permanent FOOD FIX. Her book by that name will provide the backbone of your discoveries together. To help the library in their fundraising efforts, FOOD FIX will be for sale for $20.00 at each class. FOOD FIX is also available at the Reference Desk to read the chapters in the Library.
Awakening the heart to a new approach is simple, not easy. We can feel alone in this mindless foodie world until we seek a new world of vibrancy and health. You will learn to leave your confusion (what should I eat?) and the self-judging voices in your head (what's the matter with me?). Through practice, you CAN let go of what keeps you stuck. Each week, through readings, discussion, and action steps, you will practice in class and be given practices for home.
Workshop will be drop-in. Simply read the chapters assigned to the week (if you would like; reading is not necessary), bring a yoga mat and journal (or sit in a chair), and come ready to discuss and practice!
